Dave Rand Celebrates 15 Years at Dillanos Coffee Roasters

Way back in 2011, Dave Rand joined the Dillanos team and unknowingly got himself into the business adventure of a lifetime. Although he originally aimed for getting a spot in sales, he took a Business Development Rep role due to lack of space in the sales department. Though it wasn’t exactly what he planned on, he says:
“I am so thankful as it gave me a chance to learn from the best coffee shop owners in the country, and learn about the specialty coffee industry.”
Now a National Sales Representative, Dave shares a hilarious and likely relatable comment about the challenge of explaining his job to his kids.
“Even though I’ve explained to my kids what I do, they can’t comprehend why I can’t get Starbucks to buy from us.”

His favorite coffee, out of the thousands he’s had throughout his years, is Lucent.
He says that while being a light roast, it still maintains great body and sweetness.
Anyone who knows Dave even just a little will feel like a friend. It’s no wonder that he fits in so well at Dillanos, as he is a part of who we are. When asked what core value resonates with him the most, he says:
“Honesty, Integrity and Loyalty is hard to argue against, but that aside, being creative and resourceful is great. As a sales rep, I have the autonomy to use creativity and resourcefulness at my discretion.”
After fifteen years, it’s no doubt that countless valuable memories and relationships have been created within the Dillanos world. But out of all of them, though hard to choose, one tends to stick out to him.
“My favorite memories are traveling to almost every state, eating great regional foods, closing big accounts and laughing the entire time.”
At Dillanos, sometimes work and play are hardly distinguishable from each other. Dave truly lives out the “Have Fun” in our mission statement, while still make huge corporate impact growing our customer base.
Throughout this decade and a half, Dave’s experiences have exceeded your average, everyday “sales rep”. So what does he appreciate the most about his time at DCR?
For him, it was getting to work closely with our CEOs Chris and David.
“I’ve learned so much about business, leadership, strategy and decision making. I feel like I’ve grown up here and they have made a huge impact on my life.”
Lastly, Dave plans to go to another out of state soccer tournament his kids are playing in with his PTO.
Thank you for everything you’ have done here at Dillanos! We truly would not be the same place without you. We can’t wait to see what the years to come have in store for you. To fifteen awesome years! Cheers!
