2025 Excellent Citizen Scholarship Recipients
Meet Our 2025 Scholarship Stars!
At Dillanos Coffee Roasters, we believe in lighting the way for future changemakers. This year, we awarded scholarships to three incredible students whose passions, drive, and unique interests truly inspired us. Here’s a glimpse at the journeys ahead for Ian, Reese, and Brooke!
Reese Bywater
Sumner High School

– Hometown Hero in the Making
Sumner High School → University of Arizona (Premed) → UW (Med) Career Goal: Doctor
Reese Bywater is blazing a trail—literally. As the first in his family to pursue medicine, he’s charging forward with grit, and purpose. This varsity soccer and cross-country athlete balanced academics and athletics like a champ, and now he’s heading to the University of Arizona for premed before transferring to the University of Washington for med school. His long-term goal? To come back to Sumner and give back by working with youth and individuals with disabilities to create a healthier, more compassionate community. Reese is the kind of future doctor who’ll heal more than just bodies, he’ll inspire hearts.
Brook Musial
Bonney Lake High School

– The Empathetic Explorer
Bonney Lake High School → Oregon State University (Premed, Psychiatry) → UW (Med)
Career Goal: Psychiatrist
Brooke Musial is heading off to Oregon State with a curious mind and a compassion for others—the perfect combo for a future psychiatrist. She’s already scored a research internship and is planning a transfer to the University of Washington for med school, but her journey started long before college. A former Girl Scout with pastimes of paddleboarding, cross-stitching, and
baking, Brooke blends creativity and compassion in everything she does. Her dream? To understand the human mind and support others through life’s challenges. With her empathy and drive, we know she’ll bring warmth and wisdom to the world of mental health.
Ian Tumlin
Cascade Christian High School

– The Streetlight Specialist
Cascade Christian High School → Grand Canyon University Major: Mechanical Engineering
When it comes to streetlights, Ian Tumlin isn’t just a fan—he’s a full-on expert. Whether it’s a high-pressure sodium cobrahead or a modern LED post-top, Ian can name the model, the manufacturer, and probably the year it was made. His passion for lighting the world (literally!) is leading him to Grand Canyon University, where he’ll dive into mechanical engineering with hopes of working at a light manufacturer. Outside of his lamp-loving world, Ian finds his swing on the golf course and collects vintage streetlight catalogs. The future is bright—and Ian might just be the one designing that future glow.
