Pat Doherty Celebrates 10 Years At Dillanos

Ten years ago, Patrick Doherty joined the Dillanos team starting off in the shipping department. In between, he was an artist. Going back to the warehouse world, he since has moved to roasting. This means Pat has been directly working with coffee for a long time, so let’s see what his favorite DCR coffee is!

What’s your favorite DCR coffee and why?

“All of the coffee at Dillanos is amazing and I will never turn down a cup. But my favorite is Ethiopia Natural. I like to stick to organic coffee when I can, and the fruit forward flavor never disappoints.”

Pat has been a consistently calm, caring, and warm character here at Dillanos. While it may be in a silent, steady way, he’s made a huge impact at the workplace. The core value that resonates the deepest with him is Help People.

“No matter what you are doing or where you are at in life, we can all use a little help. It costs nothing and can really brighten someone’s day.”

Pat is a father of three young boys, meaning lots of fun adventures for his family! But when he’s at work, the thing he appreciates most is the people.

“I feel lucky to work with a group of people who are friends and always lift one another up and make the work day fun. Plus all the good coffee never hurts.”

With his milestone day, he doesn’t have an exact plan yet. But he knows that it will definitely include his wife and three boys. He foreshadows:

“The Great Wolf Lodge has been calling our name…”

Sounds fun!

Pat, thank you for 10 years of hard work making Dillanos a better place.

Even after all this time, there’s still so much left to come!

Fun Fact: Pat is a gnarly BMX rider, an artist, a band member, and a blue belt in jiu jitsu! Sheesh, leave some talents for the rest of us!

Rand Hill Celebrates 20 Years At Dillanos

When Rand first started working at Dillanos, he was hired as the accounting manager. Nowadays, he is not only the CFO of DCR, but also for M2H Investments, DCR Holdings and 2003 Heyer Investment Properties. Rand holds a crucial role in the workings of this company and treats his hefty responsibilities with serious care and diligence.

When asked for his favorite DCR coffee, he said Special Dark.

“I like a dark, rich coffee with no frills. Just a great tasting coffee and I do NOT add any sugar, milk, or cream.” Okay Rand, you’re sophisticated.

Rand has been a pillar of our core values here at Dillanos for 20 years. When asked which one resonates the deepest with him, he replied:

“You would think it would be Optimize our Financial Resources, but what really matters is “Always Possess Honesty, Integrity and Loyalty.  Chris and David set the standard and I strive to match that level.”

Rand has been friends with the Heyer and Morris family for two decades.

A favorite memory for Rand starts at the beginning of his Dillanos career.

He and Susan, his wife, had developed a great friendship with Howard and Patti. They would frequently meet for dinner while Susan and Patti often chatted about one thing, and Rand and Howard another.

Howard and I connected on so many things and talked throughout dinner. I was very lucky to have got to know Howard.”

The biggest thing that he appreciates about his time at Dillanos isn’t about numbers or money, and it isn’t about big achievements (though there have been many). He said it is “without a doubt” the friendships he has made, which he says will last forever.

It’s clear that Rand Hill is more than just a CFO. He is a friend to many and a man committed to a rich life full of loved ones. Dillanos Coffee Roasters would not be the same without our friend Mr. Hill.

Thank you for 20 dedicated, impactful, and most of all, FUN years!

“Rand has been an extremely positive influence in my life and I’ve learned so much from him. To me, he’s like a second dad. He was by my side through my dad’s passing and helped me navigate that loss and grief. We’d never be where we are without him and we’re very thankful. We love Randall!”

Sam Dollar Celebrates 10 Years At Dillanos

Celebrating 10 years of Sam Dollar at Dillanos as our Senior Art Director — a decade of creativity, strategy, and thoughtful design that has shaped both our brand and the work we do for our customers.

Sam’s favorite Dillanos coffee-

Well… it’s actually two coffees. He like to call it his own personal “Post Blend.”

“I mix Special Dark, for its rich, strong, full body and chocolatey goodness, with Omission Decaf, which has a clean, crisp body and subtle maple notes. Together they create the perfect “breakfast blend” for me and my family: bold enough to feel alive, smooth enough to drink all day, and safe enough that I’m not vibrating by noon.”

“It’s the best of both worlds, great flavor, steady energy, and just the right amount of caffeine commitment.”

When asked which Dillanos core value resonates most deeply with him, Sam says #3 — Be Creative & Resourceful.

“At my core, I love being creative. For the past 24 years — and nearly 10 years at Dillanos — I have consistently pushed myself to “think outside the coffee bag,” creating unique, inspiring, and effective designs for Dillanos and for clients of all sizes. I approach every project with creative strategy in mind, carefully balancing trends, competition, brand identity, and long-term longevity to deliver the best possible experience and results for each client.”

To me, being resourceful means finding solutions even when the path isn’t obvious. It’s about working within constraints and still delivering strong outcomes. I take pride in my ability to adapt, problem-solve, and make the most of the tools, people, and information available to me. Whether it’s learning new platforms, finding alternative production methods, or stepping in wherever help is needed, I stay flexible and committed to moving the work forward.”

“Ultimately, this combination of creativity and resourcefulness allows me to bring ideas to life in ways that are not only visually compelling, but practical, achievable, and aligned with the goals of the team and our customers.”

What Sam Values Most About His Time at Dillanos

“One thing I truly appreciate about my time at Dillanos is the relationships and the team. Over nearly a decade here, Dillanos has allowed me to be part of something bigger than just projects and deadlines. I’ve had the chance to build real relationships with teammates and clients, solve challenges together, and see firsthand how our work impacts communities and small businesses. That sense of purpose, combined with the support to keep learning and evolving, is something I deeply value and don’t take for granted.”

“Basically, it’s been one heck of a good cup of coffee.”

How Sam Plans to Celebrate His Milestone

“I’m planning to use my milestone experience day to unplug, reset, and spend intentional time with the people who matter most to me. Life and work move fast, and this feels like a perfect opportunity to slow things down, step outside the daily routine, and enjoy some quality time, whether that’s exploring somewhere new, getting outdoors, or just being present and recharging.

More than anything, I want it to be a day that fills the creative tank, brings some fresh perspective, and leaves me coming back energized, inspired, and ready to keep doing great work.”

Danny Celebrates 15 Years At Dillanos

A Fan Favorite

At Dillanos, we believe that great coffee starts with great people, and Danny is no exception. From his first days in 2010 in shipping, to now, 15 years later, as a delivery driver, Danny’s dedication has helped in keeping our coffee moving and our customers smiling.

“I think my favorite core value would be #1: Always Possess Honesty, Integrity, and Loyalty. This one is important to me because of all the values that we have in life, these three traits are the foundation of a good person—or, in this case, a company.”

His favorite memory from Dillanos when some employees formed a DCR softball team and a big portion of the company came out to watch them win the championship.
It’s moments like that make Dillanos feel like more than just a workplace, but a place to make friends and have fun!

“Danny is more than a dude I work with! He is a BROTHER and extended family! He is always there for anyone and has a heart made of GOLD! We have spent so many of life’s milestones together and I am lucky and blessed to be a part of his journey professionally—and even better, personally! Congratulations to one of the BEST!!!”

— Enrique Goldstrom

“Love Danny! He’s one of those people I always get pumped to see—his funny jokes, kindness, and genuine heart make every moment better.”

— Amber Amantea

“You can always count on Danny for a funny (and maybe inappropriate) joke!”

— Debbie Koehler

Over his 15 years, this is what Danny has appreciated the most about working here:

“The biggest thing that I appreciate about my time here is that I feel supported to have the kind of work-life balance that is important for my family. I don’t have to sacrifice being there for my family to support my family.”

And as for that extra PTO milestone reward, he’s planning to take more days off in the summer since that is when his daughter is out of school. How sweet!

Fifteen years is no small feat, and we couldn’t be more grateful for Danny.

Thank you for 15 incredible years! We can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
